This is a true-life story of artist and advertising executive, Joe Castillo and the way God changed him through one of
his drawings. It also tells of the many lives touched by this simple
illustration. It begins with the telling of how the drawing was done before a
live audience the very first time. The powerful impact it had on those who
watched, motivated the artist to reproduce it in pen & ink prints. As an
artist, Joe’s struggle to make a living is suddenly compounded by having his
wife diagnosed with cancer. They have no insurance to cover the mounting debt.
At an opportune time a friend offers to reproduce the artwork on marble plaques
and pay him royalties. The sales of the plaque are amazing. Surely this is the
answer to all their financial problems! But the story seems to grind to a halt
when the friend refuses to pay royalties on the artwork that is selling world
wide, and Joe loses his wife to cancer. It becomes a daily struggle to forgive
the man who stole his artwork, and overcome his bitterness at the loss of his
wife. The artwork seems to show up everywhere he goes compounding his anger and
resentment. For Joe it became a bitter symbol of everything that had gone
